Our educational lectures and practical applications centre around what happens to our body when sitting at a desk for long periods of time and practical applications that can be performed anywhere in order to negate or counterbalance the negative effects of sitting for long periods of time.
When sitting, certain muscles tighten and others switch off, which puts our bodies in a disadvantageous state. When this is constantly repeated, unless we do something about it, our neuromuscular physiology can alter, creating excessive wear on our bodies which can cause great pain and suffering. Physical pain has been shown to impact our emotional state and mental health.
A simplified insight into human anatomy and a presentation of what occurs to our bodies when the effects of sitting are not counterbalanced is followed by a demonstration and teaching of each individual what to do in order to counterbalance the effects of sitting for long periods of time and how with the correct exercise we can progress to a physical state in which we are far more comfortable and relaxed when sitting, which results to feeling both physically and mentally better, adopting a more positive outlook and ultimately an increase in efficiency and productivity.
